U.S. Navy Maintenance Project Team Lead (Job Number:329275)

Description:



Installation of GFE systems, in-service maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair, documentation and logistics support, operating material and supplies control, land-based and at-sea testing support and training military personnel on SSTD systems. The position will be responsible for coordinating and providing in-service engineering services from SAIC’s assigned resources for a series of specific U.S. Navy SSTD efforts, in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and all other applicable Navy Maintenance and Training Procedures/Instructions.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor of Science degree (technical degree desired) and five (5) or more years’ experience, or Associates degree (technical degree desired) and eight (8) or more years’ experience, or HS diploma and ten (10) or more years’ experience

- Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles related to Shipyard work and testing

- Technical knowledge and the ability to apply NAVSEA Ship Overhaul, building and test requirements

- Knowledge of U.S. Navy specifications and regulations pertaining to design, maintenance, safety and operation of assigned equipment/systems.

- 8 years of managerial experience in providing

- project management support and involving direct control and responsibility over subordinate groups providing engineering support services such as engineering change installations, technical assists, system certifications, INSURVs, C5RAs, system installations, ship repair, and logistic support.

- 3 years’ experience must include defining project objectives and requirements, directing, coordinating, and completing project efforts, interfacing with government personnel and providing progress reports. The successful candidate must have knowledge of relationships, policies, and procedures for NSSA/RMCs/ FTSCLANT, NAVSEA, PERA/SURFMEPP, Naval Shipyards, and Type Commanders. Experience must include defining project objectives and requirements, directing, coordinating, and completing project efforts, interfacing with government personnel and providing progress reports. This experience must have been acquired in at least one of the following disciplines: SSTD, Surface ASW Discipline, Surface ASW Fire Control, or SMCM Discipline.

- Ability to interact with multiple maintenance activities and effectively communicate technical information with senior engineers, technicians, Project Managers and Maintenance Team personnel

- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs

- Active DoD Secret clearance

- Must have excellent communication skills to interface with numerous Engineering and Trades organizations and work with minimal supervision

- Good technical writing and organizational abilities are required
