Description:


SAIC is actively looking for DMOC Engineers to provide expert technical, operational, and analytical support to sustain the current missions of the 705th Combat Training Squadron (705 CTS). Primary mission areas of the 705 CTS are:

- Internal Training Events – DMOC internal training events include major exercise events such as VIRTUAL FLAG (VF) and smaller scale training events such as Joint Kill Chain Events (JKCEs), and Air Force Weapons School events.
- External Training Events – External training event examples include Warfighter Focused Events (WFEs), NORTHERN EDGE (NE), Fleet Synthetic Training – Joint (FST-J), and Northern Goshawk (NG) exercises.
- Testing Events –Testing event examples include the Joint Command & Control of Net-Enabled Weapons (JC2NEW) and Joint Fires Coordination Measures (JFCM) joint tests
- Experimentation Events - Experimentation event examples include Defense of the Homeland Against Asymmetric Missile Attacks (DoHMA) and Nimble Fire events.
- Special Projects – The 705 CTS manages a large number of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) and facility improvement projects aimed at improving Modeling and Simulation (M&S) capability within the DoD and the international community.

Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer will span multiple DMOC functional areas, to include technical engineering, architecture, event/project support, requirements analysis and modeling/simulation activities. Support will also include:

- Translating operational requirements into technical requirements
- Designing the event systems architecture
- Organizing engineering support for site liaison teams and DMOC systems
- Conducting the technical portion of the Exercise Planning Conference (EPC)
- Developing the event test plan
- Coordinating technical efforts with the IDE contractor
- Coordinating development of individual system test plans supervising system and integration testing; conducting daily technical briefings and debriefings
- Maintaining an assessment of the technical status of the event
- Identifying and prioritizing technical problems
- Leading issue mitigation efforts
- Documenting and assessing technical lessons learned

Qualifications

:
Educational Background:

Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Must posses a minimum of 3 years general engineering experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).

Experience Requirements:

- 4 years of distributed mission operations center experience

- Knowledge of distributed interactive simulation (DIS), high level architecture (HLA), and the testing and training enabling architecture (TENA) simulation protocols and standards.
- 3 years prior experience with training, test and evaluation, and analysis events and exercises.
- Distributed mission operations exercise experience working with live, virtual and constructive assets desired.
- Strong and proven systems engineering background – preferably in military environment
