The Remedy Engineer’s primary responsibilities involve providing administration, support and development for ITSM V7.6 (or higher) BMC Remedy Applications. Assignments will include the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing information systems (which includes BMC Remedy Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) suite and their infrastructure).

These duties include, but are not limited to:

(1) Gather customer requirements

(2) Translate user requirements into systems requirements

(3) Plan and design systems architecture

(4) Write, debug, and maintain various code and scripts

(5) Design user interfaces

(6) Work with customers to test Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) computer based applications

(7) Write and maintain program documentation

(8) Ensure the rigorous application of organization information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.

Applies experience and advanced technical knowledge applicable to implementing, administering, and maintaining BMC Remedy ARS; create reports using BMC Business Analytics and Business Objects; support BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Ensures that the service desk software is functional 24x7X365 days a year and the version levels are maintained to ensure the highest performance levels. Supports Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) ITSM processes to include: Incident Change, Problem, Asset, Configuration, Release, Capacity, and Service Level Management.

Other responsibilities will include developing policies and processes associated with Level 1 Service Desk Support environment. Recommends design changes, tracks work, and assists in the development of quality assurance plans. Evaluates new system requirements and applications for service desk software and hardware impacts. May act as a key technical point of contact for assigned activities. Contributes to the preparation of management/technical reports or contractual documents, and may communicate the overall results of a project or work activity to management. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion to select the most appropriate approach or to recommend new approaches. Provides guidance to lower-level technical staff on how to solve difficult technical issues. Resolves all but unique technical problems without the intervention of management. Identifies and informs management of problems that require their attention.

Required Experience:

12 years’ experience and proven Remedy administration skills.

MUST PASS A NATIONAL AGENCY CHECK



REQUIRED EDUCATION:


Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or other related discipline is required. Four (4) years of relevant experience is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
