SAIC is seeking experienced and incumbent personnel to support work within NASA’s Integrated Communication Services (NICS). These positions will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and Michoud, Louisiana.
The NICS program is one of the integral parts of NASA’s I3P program. NICS provides the communication and networking services for all NASA Centers and their affiliated designated facilities. NICS provides the operations, maintenance, installation and engineering services for both Wide Area, Local Area Networking, as well as telecommunications services that includes LAN lines and mobile radio services. In addition NICS is responsible for all internal, external and fiber cable plant engineering and operations.
In support of this work, SAIC is currently recruiting for current incumbent personnel as well as experienced professionals in the following areas:
Communication Field Technicians
Telecommunications Technicians (PBX/Telephone)
Radio Engineering
Emergency Warning Systems Engineering
Lenel Security System Engineering
Installation Technicians
Video Surveillance Technicians
Asbestos Skilled and Trained Personnel
Remedy Ticket Management

Qualifications
:
Education and experience requirements will vary based on specific position and level. Successful candidates will have experience and knowledge in:
- Fiber optic and copper cable plant engineering, installation, repair and maintenance of large campus inside and outside cable plant knowledgeable of cable routing, wiring standards, wiring specifications and fault isolation.
- Installation, maintenance and administration of Lenel based physical access control systems and video surveillance devices.
- Conference room video and audio equipment installation, repair and maintenance.
- Video Teleconferencing system operations and scheduling.
- Telephone equipment maintenance, repair and installation.
- Telephone PBX switch maintenance and administration for system updates and telephone feature moves, adds or changes.
- Familiarization with using Remedy system problem management and service order processing.
- Radio system engineering as well as repair, maintenance and administration.
- RF Spectrum management.
- Public address/ emergency warning system engineering, repair, installation and maintenance.
