This position will provide Security Engineering and Security Architecture to the United States Department of Homeland Security, focused on designing and developing integrated security system solutions that will ensure proprietary/confidential data and systems protection. This includes but is not limited to: completing assigned security engineering tasks, or performing as overall technical lead for a complex project. The candidate will analyze new product/vendor solutions, design and engineer the solutions into production, conduct vulnerability assessments for OS and web applications, recommended security configurations for web and layer-7 applications, layer-3 traffic and ensure security standards and design principles are adhered to throughout the system life-cycle.

DUTIES INCLUDE: Developing and implementing information assurance/security standards and procedures

• Coordinating, developing, and evaluating security programs

• Recommending information assurance/security solutions to support customer requirements

Performing analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures

Analyzing and defining security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, servers, workstations, web application, and personal computers Integrating and implementing computer system security solutions

System administration of network security devices including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and monitoring and reporting tools

Leading or participating in risk management and vulnerability assessments Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS: The candidate must currently possess or be able to obtain a DHS security clearance up to Top Secret. Familiar with the management, operational, and technical aspects of IT Security in a complex enterprise environment, and must have an understanding of defense-in-depth concepts.

Candidate must have experience (4+ years) with vulnerability scanning tools, OS and web applications exploits, automated scripting, and experience (4+ years) with hardening Windows and UNIX servers.

Desired candidate will have hands-on experience and capable of designing/understanding IT designs in Visio. The new team members must be able to demonstrate knowledge of network IP subnets, security protocols and ports, and encryption. The candidate shall be capable of planning and carrying out complex tasks to completion with minimum supervision. The candidate shall have excellent verbal & written communication skills and have command of the English language. Candidate shall be capable of interpreting task requirements and selecting appropriate methodologies to complete task.

Desired SKILLS: Network security, OS security, certifications, pen-testing, wireless security, mobile security, DHS and/or NIST security.

Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 6+ years related experience. An additional 4 years of related expereince may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
