Senior Financial Analyst (Job Number:405783)
Description:
SAIC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide on-site financial management support at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI. The individual will perform cost and financial analysis of program status and prepare recommendations for management and customer use. Provide analysis of project funds including future forecasting of out-year requirements, carryover forecasting and expenditure analysis. Develops, maintains, and verifies budget and financial schedules of programs. Gather project financial data, tracking funding allocations, distributions, and expenditures, and develops financial status reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Other duties may include developing technical reports, preparing assorted presentations, and assisting with the management and tracking of other project data, as required. The individual will be responsible for such tasks as developing, implementing and/or maintaining one, or a combination of financial systems including ERP. The individual will use financial practices and procedures in resolving problems and preparing recommendations for management based on the financial results of the program. The individual will work on assignments moderately difficult and complex in scope, and will interact daily with peer groups, supervisor and customers. This position will also require frequent interaction with Program Sponsors requiring a high level of understanding of project specific financials as well as government financial processes, rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education required: Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting/business (or related field) and 6+ years related experience in the field or in a related area. Computer Skills required include proficiency in MS Office Suite with advance skills in Excel. Required skills: Strong accounting, business and technical analytical skills, in particular with quality assurance, issues/risk identification, and resolution. Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of NUWCDIVNPT/Navy applications (ERP, EDW, etc.), knowledge of types and use of Government funds is required, as well as knowledge of NUWCDIVNPT financial processes. Strong Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) skills preferred. Familiarity with MS Project preferred. Excellent planning and strong business analysis skills are required. Must be able to operate independently, but also in a team environment and share information with others. Must show initiative and have the ability to work on multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and flexibility are required; the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, technical staff, managers, and peers, and various Government and contractor personnel. Must be highly motivated, and have excellent problem solving skills.
