Electronic Hardware Technician (Job Number:406445)

Job Description: The candidate for this position will assemble and integrate computer hardware circuits and components to be used in Army training devices. Candidate will perform a wide range of complex electro-mechanical assembly operations. Under limited supervision uses tools such as drills, soldering irons, screwdrivers, precision measuring instruments, and other hand-held tools. Follows verbal and written instructions such as schematics, assembly layouts, and sketches in completing a wide variety of assembly and subassembly tasks. Performs quality checks. Has proficiency in all phases of mechanical and prototype assembly. The candidate selected for this position will work in a small team that assembles limited quantities (10 - 20) of various Army training prototype systems.
Workload and skill sets change continuously. Flexibility and the ability to work with others are vital. The facility is a SEI Level 4 quality operation and therefore expects consistently high quality output from all employees.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. 4+ years of related experience is required.
Required experience includes - wiring, soldering, and reading schematic diagrams.
Experience performing detailed work on small devices is required.
Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
Desired Skills: Previous experience soldering on surface mount circuit cards is desirable but not required. Technical school desired.
