JOB DESCRIPTION:
This Job provides overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs. May include planning, designing, and evaluating various components of network. May evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current capabilities. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). Involves complete knowledge of this administrative field and the ability to complete very difficult and complex assignments. Mastery of the job.
Reporting to the Director of Network and Security Solutions, the Manager of Network Engineering is accountable and responsible for all Engineering aspects of the Enterprise infrastructure supporting LAN/WAN/VPN, Internet, Acceleration, WiFi, Load Balancing, Network Service such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, Syslog, QOS strategies and any other network related components. This includes maintenance activities, change request management, project management, and capacity planning, and problem management. This position ensures necessary infrastructure, processes, tools, resources and personnel are sufficiently aligned to support 24x7 business objectives.
- Manages a team of Network Engineers that are accountable to develop, administer and coordinate all phases of Network platform support, including infrastructure design, capacity planning, configuration management and day-to-day operational support.
- Works closely with product development and Senior Management to ensure team priorities are aligned with business direction.
- Sets short and long-term strategic objectives while providing the management necessary to achieve profit, growth, service delivery and other company objectives.
- Identifies and communicates strategic objectives and determines specific information requirements for senior management.
- Reviews and evaluates project feasibility based on senior management requirements and priorities.
- Achieve desired results through the use of budgets, proper contracts and efficient decision making.
- Keeps current on new developments in information systems technology and plans for future upgrades and organizational changes.
- Keeps abreast of government regulations applicable to systems operations and ensures corporate compliance.
Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10+ years experience in a broad range of assignments in technical tasks directly related to the proposed area of responsibility. Will accept years of experience in lieu of degree.
Candidate should have 5+ years of managerial experience
Candidate should have knowledge of ITIL framework
