Description:
SAIC has a job opening for an Information Assurance Specialist to work at our Honolulu, HI Office.
Job Duties: Position will support an Information Assurance team providing IA planning, testing, and documenting of Information Technology (IT) systems and networks. This includes security testing and certification (e.g., DIACAP, DoDD 8500.1, etc.) developing information support plans (ISPs) and providing technical expertise across multiple Net Enabled Command Capability (NECC) Capability Module (CM) accreditations. Essential Job Functions include: perform security audits of NECC CMs; evaluate operating practices to determine if controls and security measures are adequate; assess dependability of CMs and associated data; confirm adherence to policies, standards, and industry best practices; develop and evaluate test plans, procedures, and checklists to obtain required data; and present oral and written findings and recommendations as well as risk mitigation support. Some travel is expected.
This is a contingent position with funding expected in April 2014.
Qualifications
:
Required Skills: Knowledge of Information Security and Auditing is desired. Knowledge of Federal and DoD Guidance (DoDD 8500.1, DoDI 8500.2), DITSCAP, DIACAP, NIACAP, NIST, and Certification & Accreditation processes. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent program, or equivalent experience is required.
General Experience: Four (4) years’ experience in performing Information Assurance (IA) responsibilities including planning, testing, and documenting of Information Technology (IT) systems and networks.
Specialized Experience: Two (2) years’ experience conducting anti-virus audits, security configuration checks, and system configuration scans to meet IA requirements. Candidate must be Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
Desired Skills: Proficiency with Windows variants, TCP/IP, LAN networking, configuration of O/S, server installation/configuration, client installation, FTP, Telnet, shell scripting, and web technologies. Familiarity with DISA STIGS, SRRs and STIG-Tools. DOD 8570 IAT Level I (SANS Security Essentials, CISSP, Security +), IASO Training, or equivalents. This position requires an active Secret clearance.
Education: Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems/ Computer Science or related field of study.
Substitution: Graduation from an accredited computer science technical institute or successful completion of military school designed to train personnel for independent performance in computer and network security, AND a minimum of ten (10) years field experience in IT system
