Description:


Provide Technical Team Support for the www.Army.mil website. Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software code (such as PHP, HTML, CGI, jQuery, CSS, and JavaScript) for a component of the website. Works with graphic designers, content managers and other members of a project team to develop the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website. Responsible for interface implementation. Integrates web applications with backend databases (such as MySQL). Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the integration of new products per production and client requirements. Requires strong navigation and site-design instincts. Under general direction, applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients. Supports establishment of appropriate environments to enable product evaluation and demonstrations. Provides technical assistance for the development, design, and systems integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through implementation. Assists in assessing clients’ technical environment and ensures successful implementation onsite in their environments. Executes development plans across multiple projects and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Support project team efforts in the evaluation of commercial service/software vendor resources. Stay abreast of emerging technology solutions with a specific focus on technologies relevant to OCPA core competencies. Familiar with multiple development methodologies and is responsible for evaluating technical risks and issues throughout the project. Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and / or longer life. Promotes and coordinates technical knowledge harvesting within the organization. Recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

(1) Participate in backend development of the army.mil content management system application using a PHP/MySQL infrastructure.

(2) Participate in frontend development using a variety of client side technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, SASS, Backbone, Requirejs, and more).

(3) Participate in mobile development of websites (responsive design, HTML5) and/or mobile applications (iOS, Android).

(4) Integrate external APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Google Analytics, YouTube, etc) into the army.mil web application.

(4) Provide technical insight to content and design teams to create rich interactive experiences.

(5) Stay abreast of emerging web technologies for use in the army.mil web application.

(6) Participate in regular Scrum meetings and agile process.

(7) Regularly demonstrate progress and showcase work to the project team and to the client.

Qualifications

:
Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 3+ years experience using MySQL, PHP, HTML Apache, Linux . Four additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance .
