SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Washington, DC.
The Systems Engineer participates in systems engineering activities for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) including: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System and Operational Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Resolution.

Qualifications

Basic Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in aeronautics, computer science, engineering, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years experience in lieu of degree. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of four (4) years of direct experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of FAA policies and organizational structure including knowledge of the NCPs, ACs, AMS, and other FAA processes. Knowledge of FAA Airspace design, structure, and functionality. Ability to support producing technical briefings and documents communicating findings in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project. Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Can show experience of working well independently and in team settings, with minimal oversight. Can show experience in writing and designing test plans, and documenting results.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience working on FAA systems including communications systems, FAA datalink systems, G-BAS, ASMGCS, ASDE-X, ASSC, ADS-B, RWSL, TFDM, S-CDM, FS21, DUATS, and/or OASIS. Experience supporting FAA programs throughout the AMS lifecycle, including shortfalls analysis, concept of operations, functional analysis, cost-benefit analysis, prototype fielding, and development of enterprise architecture products.
