Description:
Under minimal direction, the Logistics Business Systems Analyst is responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. The logistics analyst applies detailed knowledge of a wide range of IA concepts, practices and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of IT systems. The Business Systems Analyst provides technical support to security accreditation and certification requirements in accordance with DoD and Federal requirements; participates on technical and functional review boards and evaluates system deficiencies, problem reports, and change requests and develops solutions to implement them; analyze user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements; provides highly technical expertise in the use of DBMS and evaluates and recommends available DBMS products to support validated user requirements; provides routine and specialized support for database design, monitoring, records layout, data flow diagrams, data specifications, and data integrity issues.
Required Skills: Familiar with a variety information technology concepts, practices, and procedures. Specialized functional and technical expertise in one or more of the following systems: IMC, RMS/LMDB, PRPS, REMIS, WSMI, AFEMS, SCS, DMSI, DMLS, ATOS, ETIMS/ETOV, JCALS, JEDMICS, and/or TMSS.
Desired Skills: Familiarity with a variety of computer languages (e.g. MS SQL, SQL+, Server Visual Basic, C++, C+, HTML, XML, GML, SGML, Java, JavaScript, CSS, DBSIGN, COBOL, IDEAL, Web, and .NET development environments). Familiarity with the Joint Application Design Process (JAD), Rational Unified Process/Disciplines, Rational Suite of development tools, and configuration management methodologies. Technical expertise in the use of DBMS and the ability to evaluate and recommend DBMS products to validated user requirements. The ability to perform system administration of Microsoft and/or Unix server environments to include basic server support, specialized web server support, specialized database server support, backup and recovery capabilities storage support, and the use of the Standard Desktop Configuration, Federal Desktop Core Configuration, and Federal Server Core Configuration.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: A minimum of a bachelor’s in the area of specialty and 7+years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience may be substituted for a degree.
Certifications: DOD 8570.1-m certifications for performance of duties as an IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent).
