PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST job available in ARLINGTON, VA.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness (CSF2) program, U.S. Army G-1, is looking for a Public Affairs Specialist to provide overall communication support to the program. Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for developing, executing and assessing integrated communication campaigns, leveraging all available communication conduits and emerging technologies to most effectively communicate the CSF2 story. This includes writing news and feature stories, developing information products, developing content for and posting to social media, engaging with both internal and external media outlets, preparing strategic messaging and briefings for Army Senior Leaders, and capturing daily and quarterly metrics and preparing quarterly and event-specific communication assessment reports.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conceptualizes, develops, executes, and assesses communication campaigns for the CSF2 program. Such campaigns use a variety of communication techniques and methods, including but not limited to marketing, social media, community relations, media relations, and writing. Identify unique and effective methods of reaching all members of the Total Army – Soldiers, Family members and Army Civilians, while also identifying opportunities to engage with key influencers to include Members of Congress, Military and Veteran Service Organizations, Veterans and the American public.

2. Develops content for and engages with key program audiences in a wide range of venues, to include online (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.) and in print (news and feature stories for internal and external publication). The purpose is to inform and educate key audiences about the components of the program, and how they can utilize and benefit from the services offered. Incumbent designs strategic approaches to reach a wide range of audiences to include all Soldiers, their Family members (spouses and teens) and Army Civilians, but will also consider opportunities to engage with key stakeholders from the other services, Department of Defense, etc. All Public Affairs opportunities should be identified and leveraged on a timely basis.

3. Analyzes trends in internal and external public opinion, to determine Public Affairs program needs, and assesses impact of proposed and/or ongoing CSF2 activities Army-wide. Uses automated research capabilities in evaluating effectiveness of CSF2 strategic communication initiatives, and recommends improvement. Researches issues, previous treatment, media, and all other pertinent data to establish a planning baseline and develops methods and objectives to improve. Also researches specific issues pertinent to CSF2 leadership, and recommends advanced research strategies for issues that require a deeper scope of analysis than is readily available. Public Affairs Specialist quickly and accurately assesses the specific requirements of an issue, and personally interfaces with the CSF2 staff and leadership to resolve areas of concern.

4. Participates in senior level meetings, and represents the program and key community engagements. Coordinates events and identifies outreach opportunities to reach key audiences. Supports other requests, as necessary.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Marketing/Communications concentration preferred) and 2-4 years related experience required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent Speaking/Writing skills, Computer skills and Social Media experience are a must.

DESIRED SKILLS:
- Prior military service in a related role or Army HQ experience.
- Integrated marketing communications experience
- Prior experience with media analysis and monitoring social media accounts and familiarity related metrics.
- Prior experience developing full marketing, community outreach/involvement, media relations, press releases, newspaper articles,

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
