Description:
Position will provide engineering support for infrared/optical based systems used by the Patuxent River Infrared Systems Measurements (PRISM) Team.
General Functions:
- Provide development support to sustain, improve, and modernize PRISM processes, systems, and equipment to meet current and future range operational requirements
- Research, analyze, and document requirements for new or modified PRISM capabilities, systems, and equipment required to support range test and training events
- Document and track any changes to the hardware and software configuration of the PRISM systems
- Develop test plans, test descriptions, test procedures, and test reports
- Perform test analysis to determine system and test coverage and to evaluate critical test results
- Participate in working groups, acquisition milestone reviews, and formal qualification testing to identify potential risks to PRISM systems
Other Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ engineering experience, preferably in development, test, or evaluation of instrumentation systems
- Experience in MatLab and C++ desired
- Must be a self-starter, proactive and willing to work long hours
- Must have the ability to work with a very small team in highly charged, dynamic test scenarios
- Experience with infrared/optical design a plus
- Significant travel for project support will be required
- Solid mechanical and electrical skills desired
- Electrical Engineering background preferred
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and hold a Secret Clearance.
