Description: Individual will Serve as the Voice Operations Specialist for the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS) located at Maxwell Air force Base-Gunter Annex, Alabama. Plans, installs, maintains, and administers the Voice Over IP (VoIP) server hardware and software for the AF enterprise, including call agent/local session controllers, conferencing servers, voice protection/Edge Border controller (EBC) servers, voice directory services and other services.

Responsibilities include:

- Provides planning routine and non-routine maintenance as well as 24x7 support and troubleshooting for 26 NOS VoIP services.
- Maintains trunks, route paths and dial plans both to higher enclaves and lower enclaves.
- Manages end instrument registration on enterprise cluster.
- Develops solutions and innovative enhancements utilizing test/lab equipment.
- Provides expertise and advice to lower enclave POCs.
- Performs test and turn up with tier-2 personnel.
- Plans and schedules maintenance activities according to established AFNetOps and 26 NOS requirements and timelines.
- Adheres to DISA STIGS, AF TCNOs, and other IA and configuration guidance and regulations for all hardware and software implementations.
- Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

:


REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related engineering field or an associate’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience in addition to minimum experience identified below.

Required Experience: 4-6 years CISCO router and switch operations and management with at least 2 years of VOIP experience in DoD environment. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification. Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) certifications.

Desired Experience: Prior 26 NOS or AF voice over IP experience highly desirable.

Required Clearance: Top Secret

Required DoD 8570 Certification: IAT-III Certification
Travel: No regular travel required; responsibilities may include short or no-notice travel to troubleshoot system issues at remote locations and or support program management office operational, developmental, integration, and test and evaluation activities.
