Description:
SAIC is currently seeking a Systems Integration Engineer for the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) C4 Enterprise Support (J-6) program. This position supports the USCENTCOM Engineering, Test, Analysis and Integration Lab.
- Engineer, test, analyze, and integrate into production technical solutions that meet
USCENTCOM requirements and strategies.
• Test all hardware, software, and network configuration upgrades, additions, or
revisions in the laboratory for Government approval before implementation on
production/operational networks.
• Provide solutions to unique production network issues, addressing all of the
command’s unclassified, Secret, and coalition networks at the Tampa and forward
headquarters and the Theater Network Center.
• Develop and integrate systems to support day to-day garrison operations as well as
develop and maintain robust and survivable C4I systems.
• Provide for responsive release management across all systems and networks.
• This is a deployable position, with travel both CONUS and OCONUS; as such, possession
and maintenance of a current U.S. passport is required.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Provide information systems engineering, testing, analysis, and integration as well as
associated written reports for USCENTCOM strategies.
• Perform broad network and computer engineering tasks.
• Apply expertise of operational processes, hardware, software, and security on multiple
aspects of complex, cross-connected systems and computer network architectures.
• Perform network and computer engineering research, design, and testing.
• Install, integrate, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot approved technologies
(hardware and software, including networking, security, and communications).
• Prepare for and conduct project and design reviews.
• Document practices, policies, and procedures on all aspects of laboratory operations.
• Develop and implement a staff development and training program for engineers of the laboratory.
• Prepare and present verbal and written informational and decision
Qualifications
:
Minimum of 7 years of progressive information technology experience including 5 projects, at least one of which must have occurred within the past 3 years, in the areas of:
- Data architecture and data management.
• TCP/IP networking.
• Large enterprise performance and scalability testing.
• Telecommunications network modeling.
• Operating systems - Windows, UNIX, or Linux.
• Databases – SQL and RDBMS administration and tuning.
• Cisco internetworking.
• Storage networking – in both a VMware and non-virtual environment.
• IT security.
• Leading product/tool evaluations and developing engineering white/position papers.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Medium to high level in:
- Building release packages.
- Implementing VMware ESX upgrades, soup to nuts.
- Microsoft Windows 7 and Server 2008 environments.
- Mass storage (NAS, SAN, DAS, iSCSI, fibre channel) architecting, engineering design, provisioning, LUN management, zoning, performance, and volume management.
- Network design and integration.
- Network security engineering.
- Strong writing and speaking skills as well as interpersonal skills to support
communications with both technical and non-technical professionals.
• Passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving
for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.
• Able to lift 87 pounds to a height of three feet above floor.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in IT Sciences (or related field) and 9+ years related experience. Four years of work experience may considered in lieu of degree.
CERTIFICATIONS
Required - Must possess at least one of the following:
- MCSE
- MCSA
- MCSE: Security
- CISSP
- Security+
- Desired:
- CCNA
- VMware Professional
- SNIA Professional.
