Description:
SAIC has a contingent job opening for a IT Specialist to support our Navy client in Norfolk, Virginia.
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and challenging environment supporting a US Navy Client whose mission is Navy Modernization Program, Planning and Sustainability through program management, training, document and policy coordination, decision board coordination and support, and help desk services. The IT Specialist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting Navy Modernization Program, Planning and Sustainability Division (SEA 04RP).
This is a contingent position with funding expected in August 2014.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities include: Plans, conducts, and coordinates business programming applications activities; Conducts and prepares feasibility studies for new data processing applications or revisions to existing systems; Prepares system development cost estimates, budgets, and schedules; Prepares and presents project proposals to management and user departments; Establishes programming standards and program documentation requirements; Reviews current status of system applications and prepares recommendations for systems improvements; Monitors design processes and prepares reports on systems projects; Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Qualifications:
Basic Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of four (4) years related experience in computer applications programming.
Knowledge of C++, Java Script, Oracles, .Net, Perl, Sequel, and IT databases.
Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of Navy IT architecture. Knowledge of NDE architecture, codes, and reports.
