Host Based Security System (HBSS) Engineer (Job Number:407500)
Description:
SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) Engineer. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The HBSS Engineer will manage and configure network security infrastructure perimeter devices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS) devices and virtual private network (VPN) devices. Install, administer, and maintain a DoD-compliant Host Based Security System (HBSS) architecture for the SSC PACIFIC RDT&E Unclassified Network and other networks. Apply all applicable STIGs, IAVM directives, and CTO instructions to the Cyber Defense architecture.
Support the daily operations of all HBSS modules including reviewing threat events in Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) for filter and rule creation; analyzing firewall rule sets; troubleshooting; developing and implementing system security policies; maintaining access control lists (ACLs); and maintaining HIPS trusted network policy for network devices, applications, and services. Coordinate with the User Management Team (UMT) to troubleshoot issues experienced by users. Perform testing for DISA Federated Testing efforts, validate and create documentation, create test plans, and strategies.
Qualifications
:
Basic Education Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (STEM) from an accredited institution, AND five (5) years of relevant work experience, OR Associate's Degree (STEM) AND seven (7) years of relevant work experience, OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND nine (9) years of relevant work experience. Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in administrating HBSS (ePO 4.5 or later). Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in administrating MS SQL Server 2005 or newer. Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in administrating enterprise-class Windows servers. Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in applying DoD STIGs to an HBSS infrastructure.
One (1) of the following commercial certifications:
a. CompTIA Security + (SY0-301)
b. International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
c. CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP)
d. Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
e. ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
f. Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Leadership Certification (GSLC) 3) Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE 2012)
One (1) of the following commercial certifications:
a. MCSA: SQL Server 2012
b. MCSA: SQL Server 2008 5
Successful completion of DISA HBSS (301) Advanced Administrator course.
