Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Job Number:406830)
Description:
SAIC is looking for a Oracle Database Administrator to join our Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) team in Washington, DC.
This Oracle Apps DBA will be responsible for supporting and managing the enterprise-wide Oracle database & apps environments in regards to production, development and test environments. This person will work on the installation, configuration, cloning and upgrade of Oracle databases & application software and related products and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies/procedures. This person will be responsible for capacity planning and providing 24x7 support on an on-call rotation model. Should be highly motivated and self driven. Should be able to contribute individually as well as a team member.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Database Administrator, you are instrumental in researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, and planning implementation of new versions of Oracle Applications, database, and database administration tools. You will support multiple production, test and dev environments concurrently. You will support multiple projects concurrently and flexible to adapt to changing priorities. You will work actively with peers and users to resolve issues.
Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BS degree and 9+ years of related IT and Oracle database and applications experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
All candidates for consideration must be eligible to obtain a US public trust clearance.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- The successful candidate must have significant familiarity with Oracle RDBMS, E- Business Suite & Weblogic.
- Must have strong communication skills, motivated, self-starter, and a solid understanding of requirements analysis and verification.
- Experience with Oracle RDBMS Version 10g & 11g
- Experience with E-Business Suite Oracle Apps 11i and R12
- Experience in implementing EBS 11i/R12 single sign on
- Experience in Configuring OAM and OID with high availability is a must
- Experience with Oracle Weblogic server 10.3.x
- Hands on experience with high availability architecture including Oracle Standby with Data Guard
- Ability to work in fast paced, constantly changing environments and able to manage multiple environments
- Expertise in troubleshooting issues around oracle apps environments
- Experience Shell scripting experience
- Expertise in backup and recovery methods using RMAN
- Excellent communication skills and consistently high performer in meeting business needs
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with Oracle native tools to include ODI, ADF, and EDQ. Experience with DataGuise for datamasking.
