Description:



Responsible for packaging software for automated delivery and installation. Software to be packaged will range from mainstream Microsoft and Adobe products to more specialized engineering, drafting, project management, and other software utilized by customer in performing all types of mission work. Packaged software will be deployed to Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix devices.

Future deployment will extend to packaging of applications for thin/streaming use, terminal server solutions, and mobile devices.

Individual will perform Tier 3 support for software installations, which will involve customer interaction and using BMC’s ITSM tool to work incidents.

Position requires strong teaming with groups who deliver products to the desktop (DMS/SCCM and Mac/Casper).

Responsibilities will be iterative and will evolve based on the demands of user-facing applications and mission needs.

The position will have limited supervision and requires the ability to develop work plans without significant direction.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar degree or equivalent experience
- 4 years of related experience in SCCM doing software packaging and using scripting, MSI modification and complex troubleshooting.
- Experience required in the following technical areas:

- Programming and/or scripting such as Python, VBScript, PowerShell, Autoit and/or WinBatch;
- Customer focused, production approach to service delivery.
- Strong experience with Windows and either Mac or Linux/Unix platforms.
- Ability to script installation of a wide variety of software applications using a variety of tools, such as WinBatch, Python, autoIT, PowerShell, etc. Understanding of the basic functionality behind, and principles of, automated deployment mechanisms such as SCCM and Casper.
- Ability to team with application developers.
- Ability to adjust processes/procedures to meet shifting end-user requirements.
- Strong trouble-shooting ability when responding to production issues which must be diagnosed, repaired, and re-deployed quickly and correctly.
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks, sometimes with very little direction or assistance.
- Ability to interface with technical personnel within Sandia, as well as with vendors and other software manufacturers.
- Can start without an active clearance but must be able to achieve and hold a DOE “Q” clearance.

DESIRED:

- Experience with Software Asset Management Systems and/or SaaS.
- Experience operating within an Enterprise level computing environment.
