Windows Systems Administrator (Job Number:407349)
Description:
The successful applicant must have the ability to work closely with customers to recommend and deliver system administration best practices and IT resources utilization for virtual and physical server environments. Applicant must be able to collaborate with Network and DBA technical teams to achieve a unified project end-state including and not limited to systems scanning, evaluation, patching, corporate services integration, and configuration for multiple AD environments. Applicant must be able to multitask between various projects and tasks as dictated by customer and mission objectives.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 4+ years of Windows server experience
- This job will require lifting of up to 50 lbs. Equipment lifting devices are available for heavier components.
- Experience with installation, configuration and maintaining Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012 Server Operating Systems on a variety of physical and virtual hardware
- Experience maintaining Active Directory topology and configuring Group Policy Object management
- Experience managing virtual environments
- Familiarization with databases and database services
- Familiarization with networking principles
- Experience installing and integrating various applications
- Restore data and re-configure systems when required
- Detect, identify and troubleshoot system software and hardware problems
- Schedule performance of server maintenance actions during non-duty hours
- Analyzes system faults, troubleshoots, and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems
- Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing
Desired Skills
- Experience with MS SQL, MS Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, Nessus
- Evaluate systems and ensure security requirements are met
- Proactively address network, storage, or system performance issues
