Description:
This position is responsible for conducting and supervising a training team and conducting training and training development related to the installation, maintenance, repair or upgrade of Surface Ship Torpedo Defense (SSTD) Systems aboard U.S. Navy surface ships. The position is responsible for planning, organizing and responding to task instructions requiring the development of new training curriculum and/or updating of existing training curriculum in support of SSTD installations and support using current U.S. Navy processes and standards. The position requires knowledge in operations and maintenance of Torpedo Defense systems. This position will work with training team members to conduct Foreign Military Support (FMS) training in remote classrooms, which may require travel to locations outside of the United States.
Typical tasking and work products of this position include:
- Establish and maintaining a scheduling tool that will allow fleet personnel to see the training availability for each system and variant and to register for the training offered·
- Generating training curriculum for SSTD Systems identified in associated Technical Instructions received from the customer. Products may include Computer Based Training (CBT) , Student Guides, Lesson Strategy Reports, Instructor Planning Documents and Syllabus.
- Developing a Training Equipment Summary Sheet to determine what services and equipment is needed for the training classrooms.
- Determining what electronic equipment is required for the continued operation of the SSTD Classroom and coordinating the repair of equipment to ensure continued SSTD Classroom operations in case of equipment failure.
- Conducting the SSTD training courses in a government or SAIC provided facility using provided test loads and tools within an Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) learning environment.
- Performing equipment installations and monitoring and validating training and troubleshooting faults and failures of systems.
- Conducting training aboard platforms identified in associated Technical Instructions received from the Customer and coordinating with the SAIC team and the Government for access the ship to conduct the training.
- Providing an End of Trip Reports upon conclusion of the training.
- Ability to interact with multiple maintenance activities and effectively communicate technical information with senior engineers, technicians, Project Managers and Maintenance Team personnel
- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
- Must have excellent communication skills to interface with numerous Engineering and Trades organizations and work with minimal supervision
- Good technical writing and organizational abilities are required
Qualifications
:
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's level degree in Education, Psychology or related Training Systems discipline and eight years experience in curriculum development and delivery.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
