Description:

Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. At the more senior (exempt) levels, this family evolves into the development of policies and standards related to the use of computing resources, overall strategy, design, implementation, and operational aspects of multiple systems, operating environments, and related software. Schedules, plans, and oversight of system upgrades. Develops functional requirements through interaction with end-users and coordinates with development team on systematic enhancements or changes. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). Having the knowledge and experience to be able to handle unusual and seldom occurring job events with minimal assistance. May serve in a lead role and train others.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess an understanding of the CONUS NIPRNet Active Directory Forest including the six domains: North America Southwest (NASW); North America Northwest (NANW); North America Southeast (NASE); North America East (NAE); Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA); and Service. The candidate will also be expected to perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on all CONUS Domain Controllers IAW Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensure network connectivity to all CONUS DCs, perform initial configuration to meet the security requirements for each platform. In addition, will create and sustain Group Policy Objects to meet theater, installation, and organizational requirements, configure environment in support of Active Directory migrations to other forests and email environments and report migration activities, perform security review of scan results in support of Active Directory migrations to the CONUS Forest and report results, operate and maintain the Theater Active Directory CM test lab, and test all proposed Active Directory baseline changes and report results. The successful candidate will also have the ability to coordinate and work with other forest owners and installation or organization POCs to correct user account data duplication and other user data problems as well as operate, sustain, and secure Army Enterprise Out of Band Management (AEOOBM) enclaves.

People Management Skills: Incumbent(s) should have the ability to manage cross-functional teams responsible for delivering high-quality project outputs on time and within budget. Ensures appropriate management, customer, and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project.

Customer Interface Skills: Must be able to listen to and understand customer expectations and concerns, and assures customer we are executing project effectively. Domain Knowledge and Expertise: Should have moderate knowledge of this field and domain gained by experience in working on similar projects / programs, may have specialized domain technical knowledge that needs to be broadened into a more comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of domain.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school education or equivalent and 6+ years of related data processing experience. Knowledge of personal computer and server processes and network operations is preferred. Min req quals are 1) MCITP: EA 2) AR-2 IAT Level II Baseline Certification.
