SAIC is hiring a Windows Server Administrator to work in Patuxent River, Maryland
Position Description:
The Windows Server Administrator (SA) position is on the NAWCAD 7.2.4 Data Center Operations Team. Job duties will include server builds from an approved standard image, system configuration, testing and troubleshooting in physical and virtual environments. SA will respond to ACAS findings apply patching in accordance with DoD STIGs and in coordination with the Information Assurance Department. SA will respond to trouble tickets via the HEAT ticketing system. SA will work in accordance with NAVAIR and DISA policy, and industry best practices. SA will participate in monthly maintenance activities one weekend per month to apply patching and other activities requiring system downtime. SA will assist with other Data Center teams as required.
Specific Requirements:
- Installing, configuring, and managing the Windows Server operating systems and related tool sets supporting NAVAIR Data Center. This includes gathering requirements, developing and conducting design reviews, along with "as approved" implementations within the mainstream corporate infrastructure.
- Keeping servers "compliant" per NAVAIR and DISA policies to include backup and disaster recovery requirements, anti-virus protection, and implementing system security.
- Maintaining the information on the Knowledge Base site.
- Producing documentation that details and describes the systems, procedures, events, and any associated processes.
- Building new infrastructure servers.
- Maintaining, tuning, and patching systems for optimum performance and security.
- Migrating or upgrading systems, where applicable.
- Using the HEAT helpdesk tool for planned system outages or changes.
- Responding to system failures promptly to bring applications back online.
- Maintaining the operational status of servers and providing print support.
- Participating in monthly routine maintenance tasks.
- Participating in the development, implementation, and adherence to Technical Services documentation, system standards, policies and procedures.
- SA must be a quick learner and a hard worker. Must be willing to take on new challenges and learn new technologies.
- Experience with SharePoint Server Administration is a big plus.
- Experience with Citrix Administration is a big plus.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 3+ years of directly related experience in OS administration and analysis.
- Experience with Windows 2003/2008 Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation.
- Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems Security Compliance.
- Possess the ability to work independently, on a virtual team, and to lead others.
- Knowledgeable of hardware and software troubleshooting methods.

- IA Certification: Security+ within 180 days.
- OS Certification: (Windows MCSA, MCSE, etc.) within 180 days.
Clearance Level: Interim Secret to start, working towards SSBI
