SAIC currently has an opening for an Application Administrator to support a Department of State (DoS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program. This program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security supporting the DoS in successfully carrying out its U.S. foreign policy mission. IRM provides enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for desktops, servers, networks, firewalls, and enterprise applications across the Department. Program is named "Vanguard 2.2.1" and is an IT consolidation consisting of the Department's servers, mainframes, network devices, network perimeter, anti-virus engineering, public key infrastructure (PKI)/biometrics/encryption, monitoring tools, telephony, mobile computing platform, virtual environment, and enclave design/security engineering.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is within the Vanguard 2.2.1 program’s Enterprise Security Office (ESO), supporting assessment and authorization (A&A) of the DoS unclassified network, classified network, and external network connections. The applicationautomates major activities within the A&A lifecycle process as well as the production of security package artifacts. This position will require significant interaction with the DoS and contractor staff and with the DoS Information Assurance (IA) office. The work location is in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.
Responsibilities include:
- Application configuration and administration in support of A&A process in the the DoS environment.
- Maintain, manage, and upgrade the application and underlying host platform components in both test and operational environments. Host platform components include web servers, a relational database such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle (including clustering), and Microsoft Windows Server operating system.
- Develop user training materials, including quick reference guides as well as application maintenance references and SOPs.
- Develop and maintain system security documentation.
- Establish, maintain and operate a contingency response and disaster recovery capability.
- Provide help-desk support to application users.
- Collaborate with system owners, IA system owner support, and IA security control assessors to adapt the solution to meet IA mission objectives.
- Implement procedures to support recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Support and interact with customers, at the highest levels, as required.
Required Education/Skills:
- Bachelors degree in a related field, or equivalent; and 5+ years related experience.
Desired Education/Skills:
- The MCSE, Data Platform certification.
- ITIL® Foundation certification.
- Experience with, and knowledge of, IT security architecture and engineering.
- Familiarity with DoS environment (data and voice networks, IT security systems, policies and procedures), Foreign Affairs Handbooks (FAHs), Foreign Affairs Manuals (FAMs) and DoS IRM/IA C&A Tool Kit, CNSSI 1253 and DIACAP.
- ComplyVison application administration experience, including help desk support functions.
Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of related experience. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
