SAIC has a job opening for a Red Switch Systems Specialist to work at The Pentagon.
The Red Switch Systems Specialist will be in the Red Switch area of the Air Force Pentagon Comm Agency outsourced contract. Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) is a unique secure/non-secure conferencing network that provides mission critical voice and data communications for senior level DoD and OSD leadership to plan and implement wartime and peacetime operations. Work center is responsible for maintaining DRSN and its sub- systems for 24x7 continuous operation within the Pentagon, other locations, and system demarcation points identified by Government furnished DRSN configuration documentation.
DRSN support will cover overall maintenance tracking and reporting responsibility both within the Pentagon and at remote locations; switch operation and administration; scheduled, unscheduled, corrective maintenance, fault isolation, and restoration at remote locations; DRSN telephone installations, relocations, removals, replacements; all DRSN cryptographic device configuration, operation, and maintenance; COMSEC responsible officer duties; system and office upgrades; and system accreditation all IAW DISA guidance and technical manuals. The Red Switch Systems Specialist will maintain DRSN, IDNX, Cryptographic and associated equipment; Provide technical support for circuit installations, modifications, and deactivations; Provide DRSN system maintenance and monitoring, perform in-service and out-of-service testing, maintenance actions, etc.; Document test results, coordinate PMEL support, perform fault isolation, troubleshoot circuit problems, reconfigure equipment, track maintenance on equipment, and maintain a record of maintenance actions.
Shift work: 24x7x365 Night Shift: 6pm-6am
Qualifications:
Desired education and experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; and 4+ years experience. Additional experience and training will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills: O&M or engineering experience with NMCC systems and DRSN in particular is highly desirable. Completion of Cryptographic training KG-194, 94, 84, 81, and KIV-7 highly desirable. Pentagon O&M experience also highly desirable. Previous supervisory experience desired.
Required Skills: Strong customer relations skills and overall communications skills are mandatory. DoD O&M or engineering experience is mandatory. IAT Level One certification or higher is required at time of hire.
Active Top Secret with active SCI or the ability to obtain SCI clearance.
