SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Lead Test Engineer. This position will be located in Norfolk, Virginia.
SAIC requires test engineering support for the Navy Maritime Maintenance Enterprise Solution (NMMES) Sustainment and Modernization Support program. This program will provide operations support and sustainment services for systems engineering, testing and evaluation of hardware and software information technology systems, hardware design, procurement assistance, system integration, software maintenance (i.e. upgrades, fixes, and coding repairs) as part of an integrated team. This work will include the development of end items resulting from maintenance activities, as well as full life cycle support for existing or proposed solutions.
The successful candidate for this test engineering position will provide testing expertise for support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications. The test engineer directs and/or participates in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection. The test engineer is responsible for ensuring that the test design and documentation support all applicable clients, agency or industry standards time lines and budgets. The test engineer is responsible for ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and project managers are fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements. The test engineer will support all system and application installation efforts and identify inter-operating issues with new releases and interfaces. The test engineer will support the migration of applications and data from existing data centers to Navy Enterprise Data Centers (NEDCs
Primary responsibility will be to perform unit testing and integration testing and provide support for the remaining government testing efforts. This effort includes the development of test plans, writing of test scripts, submission of test plans and scripts for Government approval, and problem resolution resulting from issues discovered during any level of testing. Duties will include preparation for and participation in a Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)to determine the project solution’s readiness to proceed to Government Acceptance Testing. The successful candidate will prepare TRR minutes and results and deliver them to the government end-customer, participate in planning activities, provide technical support to early operational assessments, developmental testing, operational testing, and evaluation of IT systems; develop, deliver, and maintain testing documentation of the testing process and results; and develop and update IT test cases, test procedures, and test scripts for each system’s, modules/ subsystems, and scenarios for all Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), System Improvement Requests (SIRs), defects and enhancements, provide integrated test schedules for multi-phased testing. The position will provide test status report, a test requirements traceability matrix, and test logs. Upon conclusion of Integrated Testing, the test engineer will prepare and deliver the report which provides a high-level description of the overall testing and results.
The successful candidate will provide on-site technical support at customer sites. Such technical support shall consist of assistance with application, database systems, software, hardware, and interface related testing
Qualifications

Basic Education, Skills and Experience:
B.S. degree from an accredited institution or four years of related experience in lieu of degree. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience to include responsibility for, testing, test documentation, and test support of information software systems based on the Java platform, .NET framework, Oracle database and Windows runtime environments.
The successful candidate will have experience and domain expertise in information architecture and software development specific to naval and maritime systems, software, interfaces and solutions. This experience should be specific to Navy Shore Based Maintenance information technology systems managed by NAVSEA 04.
Candidate must be familiar with the PMO-IT SLDC Toolset, which currently consists of Serena Dimensions (Configuration Item Repository), Serena Business Manager (Configuration Management and Workflow), IBM Rational Rhapsody (Systems Requirements Specifications), IBM Rational DOORS (Requirements Management and Traceability), and HP ALM and UFT (Test and Defect Management and Risk Management).
Candidate should have familiarity and experience with the target application technologies, which include C++, Java, XML, PL/SQL, COBOL, IBM PACBASE and Cold Fusion Markup Language. Familiarity should include application environments and development tools Oracle WebLobic, Tool for Oracle Application Developers (TOAD), Oracle Forms, Adobe PDF, Business Objects XI, Microsoft Visual Studio, IBM Rational Application Developer and Sybase PowerBuilder.
Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
