Responsibilities
•Work with more senior Cloud Systems Administrators to capture, analyze, and decompose system requirements, and develop, document, and test design solutions that meet those requirements.
•Provide system administration support for the cloud network, including performing installations, managing user and file permissions, installing and securing 3rd party applications, performing network backups, and creating virtual machine images.
•Work with team engineers to develop, maintain and enhance computer hardware and software associated with a big data cloud environment.
•Install, configure, test, maintain, and administer VMware virtualization products.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, and administer Amazon Web Services, especially EC2, S3, and RDBMS.
•Install, configure, test, maintain, and administer mission application software.
•Work with the leads of other subsystems, customers, and process owners to insure solution integration.
•Assist in the production and maintenance of documentation of the system hardware and software, including as-built documentation, capacity/performance plans, as well as all other areas of system life-cycle planning.
•Provide input to developmental and operational metrics reports.
•Assist in troubleshooting, managing, and reporting problem resolution, including root cause analysis.
•Assist in transitioning design solutions to an operational environment.
•Work with other engineers and contractors to promote customer and user satisfaction, optimize data security, and help ensure optimal user interfaces.
•Perform workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.
•Thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
•Carry out procedures to ensure that information systems and services meet minimum organization standards and end‐user products requirements.
Must Have Skills
•Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 2+ years’ experience.
•Knowledge and experience with cloud system administration and operation.
Desired Skills
•Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
•Flexibility and personality skills to work within a dynamic, high-visibility, multi-contractor environment, working with government and contractor.
Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related field and 1+ years experience.
