Description:
SAIC has a contingent need for a Program Manager responsible for a large IT outsourcing program in Washington DC. The program provides comprehensive outsourcing including program management and total lifecycle management of data center, network, telecom, security, service desk and applications and transformation activities.
The Program Manager is responsible for the development, planning, execution and control of a team of 70+ employees and contractors. Activities include: planning, coordinating and executing work across the enterprise; ); oversees the actions of the team to integrate all functions and activities needed to perform the projects and deliver services on-time, with quality and meet customer requirements; directs project team personnel, manages cost and schedule, ensures contract compliance and serves as the principal customer interface. The program manager will leverage successes gained on the current program to build and work a pipeline of new business opportunities
Scope
The senior project manager will have 15-20 years of experience and will be capable of managing a moderate risk program, comprised of a series of related projects with a common customer objective. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, executing, monitoring, and controlling major aspects of the project, including technology, prioritization of high visibility capital budget projects, such as telecom switch implementation, schedule, cost, contract and customer satisfaction; interfaces with named leads for transition, Infrastructure and Applications, as well as university stakeholders.project managers, task and functional leaders, subcontractors, support personnel, and other stakeholders; serves as the primary customer interface. Has financial management responsibility and experience in managing fixed price, T&M and cost reimbursable contract types. under Federal acquisition vehicles, such as GSA Alliant.
Knowledge/Skills & Ability
Skills: The program manager is experienced and capable of successfully directing project planning, development and implementation according to cost, schedule, and scope requirements. Participates in project initiation, including plan and budget preparation; leads the program team in successfully executing the project closeout activities, including collecting lessons learned.
People Management Skills: Has the ability to manage cross-functional teams responsible for delivering high-quality project outputs on time and within budget; ensures appropriate management, customer, and supplier involvement throughout the life of the program. Customer Interface Skills: As a primary customer interface, the program manager must be able to listen to and understand customer expectations and concerns, and assure customer project is being executed effectively.
Business Development: Is capable of developing a pipeline of new opportunities and leveraging the pipeline to win new business – initially within the program and then to related opportunities with the same or similar customers.
Domain Knowledge and Expertise: Must have deep domain knowledge of IT System technology and management in a university and healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent as a minimum, Master’s preferred, or equivalent and 15+ years of proven experience in delivering IT networking projects to local government customers and developing new related business is required. Project Management certification PMP® and ITIL V3 or other equivalent certifications is highly desirable.
