SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Desk Side Support Analyst. This position will be located in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Desk Side Support Analyst is responsible for performing installations, repairs and preventative maintenance of personal computers and related systems including iPad, iPhone, tablets and Android phones. They will also provide day-to-day technical support to users for limited network and telecom infrastructure and for desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop and laptop systems issues in a combined Microsoft and MAC environment (MS Windows 7, XP, MS Office, MS Outlook and MAC OS). Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Must be self motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision. Requires excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to work in an environment supporting executive level management. May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization's computer users about site support services and about general operation of standard desktop hardware and applications. Works on problems of limited scope. Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information. Basic PBX administration and the ability to punch down telephone lines are required.

Qualifications

BASIC EDUCATION/SKILLS:

High school education or equivalent and six (6) years of related experience providing desktop support in a MS Windows environment. Position requires highly developed skills in diagnosing, support and resolution of desktop hardware, software, network, operating system issues. Candidate must possess practical knowledge of and in-depth experience with MS Windows XP, MS Office and MS Outlook. Additionally, experience with McAfee Anti-Virus, Remote Desktop and Remote Control utilities (e.g., NetMeeting, SMS, PC Anywhere, Carbon Copy) is essential. Experienced in the utilization of problem tracking software such as Remedy and possess excellent problem tracking documentation skills for historical and reference purposes. Ability to effectively document issues and resolutions. Clear verbal communication skills for user instructions.



PREFERRED SKILLS:


Avaya PBX user administration and Voice Mail user administration skills helpful as is proficiency in business/technical writing. Experience with Active Directory is a plus. Experience in life sciences or a plant/production environment is desired. Knowledge of video conference support and Altiris is highly desirable.
