Senior Systems Safety Engineer (Job Number:404949)
Description:
SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Safety Engineer in the Patuxent River, MD area.
This candidate performs engineering studies to determine the best, most safe systems and equipment considering all the issues related to personnel and facility safety. They develop, implement and monitor company safety programs and policies. Ensures compliance with government health and safety regulations. Conducts employee training in emergency response, life safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical and fire hazards. Performs observations, audits, accident investigations, records data, and prepares recommendations. Conducts safety surveys and recommends corrective action where occupational hazards exist.
Applies engineering principles and analytic skills to investigate and analyze complex integrated systems and subsystems. Develops System Safety Hazard Analyses with risk mitigation strategies for hardware and software safety hazard characterization and documentation.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a scientific or equivalent discipline and 10+ years of related experience.
