Ruby Developer (Job Number:405437)
Description:
SAIC has a need for a Ruby developer with at least four years’ experience. The group provides web services for the entire organization and the position will be supporting all type of Ruby development for the group from new development to complex troubleshooting through full lifecycle of software.
The software developer will:
- Gather requirements, design, develop and test high-reliability Ruby on Rails applications, and provide end user support for a number of applications used.
- Design and maintain applications using Ruby to support the Enterprise Web services team
- Manage software application code using version control and problem tracking software expediently and accurately
- Work effectively in an agile software development environment and in a team environment
- Interact closely with customers
- Development activities to be done in compliance with application development, database and middleware guidelines and standards
Qualifications:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Management of Information Systems, or relevant discipline, or an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience developing Ruby programs for business or technical applications
- Experience working on large applications in a team environment
- Experience using Agile development methodologies
- Possession (or have the ability to obtain) a DOE L clearance. Can start uncleared but must be able to start clearance process upon acceptance.
