SAIC has an opening for a mid-career Learning & Development Business Partner with experience in career development strategy and solutions development. This position will report to the Talent and Development Solutions Director as a member of the Corporate Human Capital Talent and Development Center of Expertise. The Talent and Development Solutions team provides portfolio-based strategic, operational, policy and process consulting and coordination to internal SAIC business customers on a wide range of learning, training, talent and employee development solutions. SAIC recently re-organized into a matrix structure, which requires a new and innovative approach to career development and employee career management.
Description
The incumbent will lead enterprise efforts to design, develop, implement, manage and evaluate a matrix-based employee career development and management strategy. The role will have responsibility for a full scope new program effort, starting with innovative design and continuing with effective management, adaptation and maturing of the resulting solutions. This is an individual contributor position and includes opportunities for both formal and informal leadership of, and/or participation in, the strategic design, development and management of other key enterprise talent development programs such as leadership development, performance and change management, as well as acculturation and learning consultation. This position is located at SAIC headquarters in McLean, VA which is adjacent to the recently opened Greensboro Silver Line Metro station, and offers the opportunity for telework.
What is expected?
- Quickly assess existing resources, plans, and programs and understand business processes and priorities in order to define an SAIC career development strategy
- Mange the coordination, review and approval of the proposed strategy and approaches with senior HR and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and support
- Program manage all related implementation efforts and evaluate impacts
- Revise, create and coordinate career development support resources, marketing and training
- Build internal and external networks in order to effectively serve as SAIC’s subject matter expert and primary point of contact for career development solutions and programs
- Evaluate, recommend and manage any potential external vendor and partner relationships in support of SAIC career development efforts
- Support the collection and analysis of enterprise career and technical training learning requirements and also provide expertise and experience to support the creation of related solutions
- Take the initiative to provide expertise, innovation and ideas to spark and advance employee development efforts in a spirit of collaboration, teamwork and commitment to success
Qualifications
:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, OD, Education, Business or related field coupled with 6+ years related experience ; or Graduate degree in related field with 4+ years related experience
- A minimum of 2 years of business analysis/requirements analysis experience, preferably in the HR or learning field
- Experience as an internal or external consultant or business partner delivering HR, learning, and or talent related solutions.
- Experience managing and delivering on complex, cross-functional, multi-year project/programs at the enterprise level
- Highly proficient in MS Office/Outlook (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software tools.
Desired Qualifications:
- Recent experience leading the successful design, development and/or deployment of enterprise career development strategies, processes or solutions
- Experience developing or managing career development and management solutions for a matrix organization
- Poise, presence and proven experience supporting, briefing and engaging with executive leaders
- Excellent and immediately obvious communication skills, both written and oral, as well as strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Strong ability to work independently and also collaboratively contribute in informal working groups
- A high degree of initiative, organization and self-motivation and a proven ability to consistently deliver results
- Experience with social collaboration tools and social learning design, technologies and solutions (e.g., WebEx, Jive)
