C4ISR Systems Engineer (Job Number:404961)
Description:
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and challenging environment supporting SPAWAR Hawaii to develop cutting edge technical solutions in developing C4ISR architectures and infrastructures for new MILCON projects. The C4ISR Systems Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting development, testing and life cycle support for C4I systems and subsystems.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities may include a multitude of tasks such as:
• Perform functions associated with technical research, system design and engineering, installation, testing, and integration of multiple C4ISR systems.
• Establish and recommend policy, procedures, and guidance as it relates to IT, Information Assurance, and network security systems
• Prepare and present briefings to internal QA management and SPAWAR Pacific customers.
• Provide engineering documentation support
• Provide site support to assist with problem resolutions
• Supports cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations
• Provides feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendation(s)
• Recommends complex systems investment(s) to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues
• Plans, conducts and oversees the technical aspects of projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
• Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of the system requirements and problems
• Provides technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients
• Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Lead or support matrixed teams, develop and maintain professional relationships with SPAWAR Pacific customers.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Requires Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field).
• 5+ years’ of experience in systems engineering, operating systems programming or naval C4ISR architecture
• Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas
• Experience working with design principles and applications
• Knowledge of system engineering methodologies
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Strong communication skills to communicate systems proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
• Strong organization skills to prioritize work, balance and lead complex projects
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates, and team members
• Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
• Ability to integrate complex hardware and software systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
• Knowledge of Navy standards (i.e. NESI, etc.)
• Prior SPAWAR SSC Pacific C4ISR experience
Travel:
- Periodic trips to Guam may be required.
