Consultant will harden and secure the existing infrastructure environment for the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID. Candidate must show a strong working knowledge of the latest versions of Windows OS and Active Directory. Experience with Linux is a plus. The candidate should have one or more areas of expertise such as VMWare, storage, QAS (Quest Authentication Services), 2-factor authentication, etc. Be well versed with OS Security based on CIS and NIST standards, and TCP\IP networking/configuration. The candidate should be able to document work and get along well with co-workers. The candidate must be able to manage a complex active directory tree which includes: multiple domains, multiple trust relationships/types, group policies, OUs, sites, 2-factor authentication, firewalls, enclaves, federated identity (ADFS, secureauth, shibboleth), QAS, and various active directory services such as certificates, and replication. Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and fix problems throughout active directory with little or no supervision. Experience upgrading a domain from 2008 to 2012 is a plus. The candidate should also be able to: automate tasks using scripts using Powershell, ADSI, Python, WSUS, SMS, MOM, etc., mentor other staff, recommend/design solutions for systems which meet business needs, estimate time needed for increasingly complex tasks for own work and for small teams, engage with customers using excellent customer service and communications skills (verbal and written), document/track work, get along well with co-workers, and work independently and self-directed, but also enjoy working in a team environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- Experience with an external agency, e.g., DOD, DOE?
- Professional/technical (degree level or comparable knowledge, e.g., engineering, financial analysis, accounting OR certification, e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, ITIL)
- Baccalaureate & 6+ years’ experience, or Advanced Degree
- Has an established technical expertise, servers as a resource to management.
- Manages technically complex activities and projects, manages work by providing guidance and direction to other staff.

Technical Environment: Windows r2008 and r2012. VMWare. Active Directory. TCP/IP, CIS, NIST, 2- factor authentication, Federated Identity, firewalls, Quest Authentication Services (QAS), Powershell, ADSI, Python, WSUS, SMS, MOM.

Qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 6+ years related experience.
