HAZMAT TRAINING & SUPPORT CONSULTANT job available in ARLINGTON, VA (Pentagon).

JOB DUTIES:
HAZMAT Training & Support Consultant will apply their existing domestic hazardous materials response experience to assist SAIC CRD training director with hands-on training drills/evaluations and Full Scale Exercises. Specifically, candidate will use their field experience with HAZMAT response and WMD to provide knowledge-based support, conducting oversight and actively participating in hands-on training drills/evaluations and Full Scale Exercises for the Response Force at the Pentagon.

Candidate must be a credentialed trainer, with diverse knowledge of hazardous materials, specialized CBRNE monitoring, mitigation and response equipment.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
As a Consulting Employee, job does not carry full-time status; work will be sporadic and on-demand (80-100 hours per year). Candidate must be available for and willing to report to work with very little notice.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING:
All candidates must possess a valid High School diploma or GED. ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 training is also required (300 and 400 are a plus).

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Hazmat Technician and/or Specialist, including domestic responder experience. Candidates without this critical skill set will not be considered.
- Ability to function as a Hazardous Materials Safety Officer
- Instructor Trained (credentialed) NFPA 1041 Instructor II or III.
- Training and experience in Functional and Full Scale Hazardous Materials Exercise Execution (training must be credentialed)
- Hands-on experience training in a group setting
- Experience in the use of specialized hazardous materials monitoring, mitigation and response equipment, (such as GC/MS; Solid/Liquid/Gas Detection/ Identification Equipment; Radiation Detection and Identification Equipment; Wet Chemistry Hazmat Identification)
- Knowledge of Engineered Controls for Hazardous Materials Management
- Exceptional mechanical skills, including ability to manipulate training equipment/on-the-spot repairs/functionality demonstrations
- Experience in the use of various types of equipment, (such as Level A, B, C, PPE; SCBA; SABA; Leak Trees; Pressurized Gas Patch Kit Devices; Leak Mitigation Kits; Defensive Product Control Equipment and Techniques; Decontamination Equipment and Procedures; Confined Space Rescue Equipment)
- Experience in running air cascade systems (Liberty II)

DESIRED SKILLS:
- Prior experience with Military CBRNE or Civil Support Team experience is a plus, but not required

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
