Description:
SAIC has an immediate need for a Systems Administrator to support the Composite Health Care System (CHCS), AHLTA, and other Military Healthcare System (MHS) Clinical Information technology systems.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will be responsible for taking calls, logging trouble tickets, and responding to trouble tickets. This includes incidents detected on VAX/VMS or Windows server computers at remote locations across multiple customers. Response to these incidents includes isolating and troubleshooting incidents; escalation and notification of NAISMC VMS System Administrators for assistance in resolving incidents that require advanced support, notification of appropriate points-of-contact (POC's) for the systems and coordination, dispatch and tracking of hardware equipment repair. This position requires working with experienced and inexperienced systems POC's on a daily basis. This position also requires interfacing with POC's from multiple service providers.
NOTE This is a shift work position and the successful candidate must be flexible in days and hours worked.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
BS degree and 1+ years of related experience [4 years experience/certifications accepted in lieu of degree].
REQUIRED SKILLS: The applicant must have at least 1+ year working on a Help Desk or in a technical support position such as a System Administrator. Applicant must possess strong oral/written communication, organizational, decision-making, customer support, and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. Applicant must be customer focused, detail oriented, a problem solver and able to prioritize work. Applicant must be comfortable in a team-oriented environment and be internally motivated.
Applicant must have an active ADP Sensitivity Level II Security Clearance and must have or be able to obtain a Security+ certification.
DESIRED SKILLS: The ideal applicant has recent experience with VAX/OpenVMS, preferably with hands-on experience with Composite Health Care System (CHCS) operations at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) level. Knowledge and experience with Cache databases, Windows XP/2003, Windows 2003 Server, and familiarity with Microsoft SQL is a plus. Network Administration and/or Desktop support experience is also highly desirable. User experience with Open Source System Management, UNIX, and Remedy ARS is also a plus.
