INFORMATION ASSURANCE (IA) ANALYST job available in the CHARLESTON, SC metro area.
JOB SUMMARY:
Information Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring information security efforts are implemented to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limiting exposure to liability and risk with regard to technology systems, networks and applications. He/she will apply their existing strong policy and process knowledge, as well as deep skill and expertise, for the development and implementation of security standards, procedures, guidelines and tools for multiple platforms and diverse system environments.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Use scanning software and follow the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)to secure installed software and hardware in order to 'lockdown' the system and reduce or eliminate security vulnerabilities.
• Perform internal and external security assessments, risk analysis and application or system-level vulnerability testing and reviews.
• Research, develop, continuously improve and implement security policies, procedures, standards and processes based on Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
• Work with the extended information security team to implement appropriate technologies.
• Provide technical assistance to development teams as an information security subject matter expert to ensure that projects are compliant with security policies and requirements.
• Manage escalated security issues from investigation through recommendation and remediation plan implementation.
• Identify and address key threats, controls and operational gaps to ensure a solid security practice.
• Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusions detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, data encryption and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (technology concentration preferred, but not required) and 4+ years of information assurance, network security or otherwise related experience are required. High School diploma or GED and 4 years of additional experience (8+ total) may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.
The above experience must include certification & Accreditation (C&A) or equivalent technical experience with the Defense Information Assurance Certification & Accreditation Process (DIACAP) or related DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Candidate must also possess one or more Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 1 or 2 certifications:
CompTIA Network+, Security+, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Cisco CCNA Security certification.
Experience with Agile software development methodology, VMware vSphere, Oracle or PostgreSQL databases, and BeyondTrust Retina technologies are highly preferred, but not required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
An active, transferable DoD Secret (or higher) clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
