Description:
SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer in the Washington, DC area.
Provides support to in-service Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) customers on Modernization Process system maturity analysis, systems engineering and certification for all AEGIS combat systems and AEGIS weapon systems. Coordinates VLS waiver requests and approvals authorizing live fire events between (PEO IWS 1/3/5) stakeholders, CSSQT project officers and NOSSA for all Baseline 9 & BMD At-Sea Testing firing events. Leads the ESS/PEO IWS 1.0 consolidated risk assessment message efforts and ensures Fleet Commanders (FLTCDRs) and Type Commanders (TYCOMs) at COMPACFLT, COMUSFLTFORCOM, COMNAVSURFPAC, and COMNAVSURFLANT are briefed the most up to date technical information available to determine the risk and capabilities associated with non-mature alterations. Leads IWS 1.0 personnel to successfully support authorization requirements for BL 9, AMIIP and other combat system installations.
This candidate participates in systems engineering activities which include the following: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Resolution.
This candidate should have an excellent understanding of systems development lifecycle and systems engineering role throughout lifecycle. Detailed knowledge of many of the systems engineering competencies listed above under Scope.
Expert level knowledge of one customer domain or intermediate level knowledge of at least two customer domains.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or addition of 5 years to overall experience requirement. SYSTEMS ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE: None required. OVERALL ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE INCLUDING SYSTEMS ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years general engineering experience.
