Description:
- Test planning, event execution, data analysis, performance evaluation, and system engineering/integration for the SSC Pacific BMD program. This tasking includes support for C4I and Aegis Combat systems for shore and afloat systems.
- Responsibilities include:
- Provide Aegis BMD combat system hardware and software expertise to support coordination and integration of system upgrades and engineering changes to maintain current fleet baselines in lab.
- Provide Aegis BMD combat system expertise in the implementation, operation, and configuration of the system prior to and during live and simulated test events to include C&D, SPY, WCS, C&D/A, WCS/A, DX, Mission Planner, Weapon Doctrine, SPY Doctrine, and C4I interfaces.
- Provide Aegis BMD simulation and driver expertise in the implementation, operation and configuration of the Aegis Combat System Interface Simulator (ACSIS), Aegis Simulation, Test, and Training System (ASTATS), Single Stimulation Framework Interface Unit (SIU), and Aegis Combat Training System (ACTS).
- Support BMDS test requirements to include Aegis primary watch stations and operator experience in response to BMD threat scenarios. Operator responsibility includes threat detection, track, engagement, and simulated intercept in support of Long Range Surveillance & Track (LRS&T) and Launch on Remote (LoR) missions.
- Provide Aegis BMD combat system expertise for Aegis performance analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for C&D and SPY systems. Coordinate Data Extraction and Test Observation Reports with Software Support Activity (SSA) for resolution.
- Develop and design test plans, detailed procedures, and TDL Architectures for BMDS link environments that supports concurrent MTJ/STJ, UTJ, Link-16 (LOS) and BMD Flight, Ground, and Operational mission interoperability.
- Provide system expertise in the configuration and initialization of ship and lab relevant TDL system components in order to support concurrent MTJ/STJ, UTJ, Link-16 (LOS) for BMD Flight, Ground, and Operational mission interoperability objectives.
- Provide TDL systems hardware and software expertise to support coordination and integration of system upgrades and engineering changes to maintain current fleet baselines in lab.
- Provide TDL system expertise in the implementation, operation, and configuration of systems and test tools prior to and during live and simulated BMD test events to include NGC2P, CDLMS, Multi-Link Interface Unit (MLIU) in a multi TDL environment.
- Provide shipboard TDL/C4I subject matter expertise to support TDL system operations, BMD tactical communication paths, and data collection. Ship SME support includes mission execution, installation and checkout (INCO), system operation and verification test (SOVT), and readiness assessments (RAs).
- Provide mission data analysis and report out in support of BMD mission interoperability objectives, as well as, participate in BMD system analysis to verify specification and performance requirements in support of BMD Data Analysis Group (DAG) and Joint Analysis Team (JAT).
- Provide U.S. Navy ship and BMD shore RF hardware and software expertise to support coordination and integration of system upgrades and engineering changes to maintain current deployed baselines in lab.
- Provide expertise in the set up and operation of BMDS RF communications for ship and shore systems.
- Define parameters and generate BMD EHF Service Plans (ESP), TIP Port Plans/TIP Network Plans (TNP), and coordinate Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT) images to support specific test events.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise to support operation of BMD EHF satellite communication on board U.S. Navy ships and BMD shore sites during test events.
- Access and analyze the RF communications performance for MTJ, UTJ, and STJ BMDS architectures and support monitoring, data collection, system level troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Provide U.S. Navy ship and BMD shore JTT hardware and software expertise to support coordination and integration of system upgrades and engineering changes to maintain current deployed baselines in lab.
- Provide expertise in the set up and operation of JTT radio and TIPOFF to support BMD test and operational architectures.
- Plan and execute IBS-S and IBS-I testing to support ship system integration and BMDS testing and operations.
- Provide U.S. Navy ship and BMD shore GCCS-M hardware and software expertise to support coordination and integration of system upgrades and engineering changes to maintain current deployed baselines in lab.
- Provide expertise in the set up and operation of GCCS-M and interfaces supporting BMD.
- Provide expertise in the planning and execution of end-to-end architectures supporting BMD mission plans between ship and shore.
- Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) and operating the ACS Command and Decision software in a Test and Evaluation environment. Experience supporting Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS), Next Generation Command and Control Processor (NGC2P), Multi-Link Interface Unit (MLIU), Multi-cast TDL J (MTJ), Uni-cast TDL-J (UTJ), and Satellite TDL-J (STJ) BMD network architectures in a T&E environment. Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software for CDLMS, NGC2P, MLIU, and related TDL systems onboard U.S. Navy ships. - Experience configuring and operating Data Link Gateway (DLGW) or Remote Node Gateway (RNG) in support of TDL interoperability testing, operations, and data collection in a BMDS architecture. Experience configuring and operating Tactical Data Link (TDL) Test Tools in support of TDL interoperability testing, operations, and data collection in a BMDS architecture. Experience in generating Data Management and Analysis Plans (DMAP) and other test documentation, teleconference and test and evaluation working group participation, meeting preparations, and completion of action items.

- Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. One year of additional relevant experience may be substituted for each of the four years of undergraduate study.
- Years of experience:
- Four or more years of progressively more responsible experience in Satellite TADIL Systems or similar technical experience.
- Two years of experience in installation and performance check of Link-16 systems including technical on the job and operational training.
- Two years of combined/cumulative experience with the following technical areas or programs: Tactical Digital Information Link (TADIL) Systems; Command and Decision (C&D); Advanced Combat Direction System (ACDS); Common C&D; Command and Control Processor (C2P); C2P Re-host; Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS); TADIL Interoperability; and Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) or similar technical experience.
