Provides full- time dedicated support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Deputy for Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Director of Engineering and/or Director of Sensors in Huntsville Alabama. Candidates will advise senior Government officials on matters related to program management, operations and Sensor Integration and Development. Apply management processes, including requirements development processes and performance-based acquisition principles, to support the agency’s mission to develop a new Long-Range Discriminating Radar (LRDR) and support agency interoperability related efforts of current and emerging BMDS ground-based radars. Assist in the development and execution of integration and fielding strategies by working with the Engineering Branch (SNE) and to assist Program and Project Managers with sensor hardware and software integration planning. Support architecture development IAW established integration strategies and by ensuring acquisition strategies map to, and directly support, established SN integration strategies. Support actions to initiate an acquisition program or project using cost/benefit analysis. Perform trade studies and analysis to develop sub- component level functional requirements, characteristic requirements, and performance requirements for sensors. Support sub-component level sensor related design reviews and Integrated Product Teams. Support coordination and collaboration between the elements, functionals and the warfighter representatives on all Change Packages that affect the BMDS. An in-depth understanding of the BMDS system is highly desired. Provide inputs to the weekly MDA/SN staff meetings, weekly activity reports, and daily updates. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential. Candidate will also support and eventually lead follow-on MiDAESS capture activities on an increasing basis.

Qualifications:
WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering solution-focused concepts, processes, and products.
• Ten years of general experience in strategic planning, integration, testing, fielding of major defense systems, or missile defense and associated programs and technologies.
• Experience in program management concepts and execution.
• Experience with the BMDS Sensor systems and the associated system architecture and interdependencies.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution at the highest levels of the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Service staffs, combatant command staffs, or defense agency staffs, or in equivalent federal or industry organizations.
• Experience with change management and sensor design/development review and approval process (PDR, CDR, etc).
• Experience in the integration of multiple, concurrent, complex programs or operations.
• Experience or working knowledge of some or all of the following disciplines: acquisition management, life cycle management; change management; system engineering; developmental and operational ground, flight and system-level testing on major defense programs; Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution System (PPBES) and Presidential Budgets; and/or warfighting doctrine.
• Five years specific experience in major defense systems or missile defense development, integration, testing, fielding, and/or associated programs and technologies.
• Experience developing briefings and papers in MS Word, PowerPoint is required. MS Project experience is a plus.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential.

DESIRED:
- Prior experience with MDA Sensors (UEWR, COBRA DANE, TPY-2, and SBX) is highly desired.
• Experience with ground or flight testing of weapon or sensor systems.
• DAU certifications in Acquisition, Program Management, Systems Engineering, or Testing.
• Ability to support cross platform teams (hardware and software).
• Knowledge of MDA policies, processes, and procedures a plus.
• Experience with Hardware- in-the-loop capabilities and testing venues.

REQUIRED: Bachelors degree is required, Masters is desired and at least 10 years of general engineering experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE Active Secret clearance required. TS and/or SCI eligibility a plus.
