Software Applications Engineer II (Job Number:404310)
Description:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates business programming applications activities in areas such as finance, human resources, and marketing. Conducts and prepares feasibility studies for new data processing applications or revisions to existing systems. Prepares and presents project proposals to management and user departments. Establishes programming standards and program documentation requirements. Reviews current status of system applications and prepares recommendations for systems improvements. Monitors design processes and prepares reports on systems projects.
Provide support on the update and maintenance of AEA division program management databases WBS Live and Ops Center and provide support for the enhancement of AEA WXS tracking and reporting capabilities. Provide assistance in supporting other related systems as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 4+ years related experience. 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Windows administrator experience
- Security+ Certification or the ability to obtain this certification
- Understanding of server/client systems
- Must be able to work with end users or small groups to resolve system issues as they arise
- Excellent communication skills; inter-personal; organizational and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of business and financial management processes for database support.
- Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML/XSLT, SOAP/Web Services, VBA, VB.NET, C#.
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008, SharePoint 3.0 (Plus MOSS 2007 Administration), SourceSafe.
- Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- MS Access development and SharePoint Designer Certification desirable. Experience with MS Project, including the use of shared resource pools.
- Experience with Python, including integration with Windows applications and MS SQL Server.
