Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has a continuous stream of technical and managerial positions to fill for the Joint National Integration Center Research and Development Contract (JRDC). The JRDC is a large contract which supports the Missile Defense Agency in several locations. The primary locations are (1) Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, (2) the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO, and (3) Fort Belvoir in the National Capital Region. Other smaller support locations exist on Kauai, HI, military bases in Alaska, and, in the future, possibly in Europe. We support the Missile Defense Agency in several ways to include (1) the integration of modeling and simulation into exercises and wargames, (2) analysis of exercises and wargames, (3) development of command, control, and battle management software, and (4) support to MDA’s Information Technology (IT) Services.

Enterprise Network Design Engineer (2598). Supports the IT Services organization on the JRDC contract based at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
Position Description: Duties include design, configuration, installation and test of IT network systems, primarily consisting of Cisco and MS Windows based LAN/WANs. The selectee will be responsible for deriving system-level requirements from user and MDA customer stated objectives and business/ operational requirements. He/she will help guide and design reference architectures, IT standards, and best practices, effecting requirements traceability and alignment throughout. The selectee will also be responsible for ushering proposed system changes through the Configuration/Change Management process to successful implementation for transition to the O&M RBA teams. Will be accountable for implementing the JRDC project lifecycle, including specific disciplines, such as Risk Management and information assurance.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8 years experience. The successful candidate must be process oriented and understand/accept systems engineering and design/deployment rigor and discipline in a military/ COCOM operational environment. Candidate must have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, including an effective briefing style. The selectee must have professional hands-on experience in design and deployment of the following technologies: Cisco routers/switches/firewalls, internal and external routing protocols, layer 2 protocols, multicast, local and long-haul data transmission mediums (RS-530, T1, OC-x, etc.), SONET, Type I encryption devices and network timing systems. Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications upon start of employment: Security+, Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Candidates must have successful experience demonstrating ability to develop detailed designs with supporting implementation, test and transition plans. The candidate must be a collaborative team player. Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
Enterprise Windows Infrastructure Design Engineer (2646 and 2647). Supports the MDA IT Services organization on the JRDC contract based at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO or the Redstone Arsenal in HSV, AL.
Position Description: Duties include design, configuration, installation, and test of IT systems primarily consisting of a virtualized Microsoft Windows 2008 Active Directory environment. Will be responsible for deriving system-level requirements from architectural guidelines and project objectives and developing detailed designs with supporting implementation. Responsible for test and transition plans and ushering proposed system changes through the Configuration Management process for successful implementation and transition to the O&M RBA teams.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline and 8 years of professional hands-on experience in design and implementation of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows 2008 Active Directory and Group Policy, VMware and HP server products to include HP c-Class Blade Systems and Flex 10. The selectee must be a collaborative team player, have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, and understand the importance of risk management and engineering within a process oriented environment. The candidate must possess one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). The candidate must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Requirements: MCSE 2003 or newer. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certified. Strong knowledge of messaging (Exchange 2010) and storage technologies are a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead technical designs and deploy IT in a high operations tempo environment, with systems engineering rigor and discipline.
