Planning (Future, Contingency, and Exercise) Operations Specialist (Job Number:403469)
Description:
This position is in support of the USCENTCOM C4 Directorate.
USCENTCOM J6 requires a cross functional team of personnel to perform reviews of existing documentation in order to analyze the risk to essential USCENTCOM functions. These analyses will be used to identify opportunities for strategic improvement or develop mitigations caused by the loss of critical and/or classified information.
Qualifications
:
Required Experience:
Must have extensive experience and knowledge of:
- the military planning process related to the development and execution of operations that support U.S. interests and regional alliances in CENTCOM’s area of responsibility
- ensuring joint and combined war fighting capability through operational directives, plans, orders, joint training and exercises.
Must have USCENTCOM experience at the field grade staff officer level.
Must have at least 5 years of DoD staff officer experience a the field grade staff officer level.
Required Skills:
- Critical Thinking — Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Complex Problem Solving — Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Judgment and Decision Making — Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Writing — Communicate effectively in writing for a senior level audience
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is a minimum (Master’s degree preferred) and 10 years experience.
Work Schedule
40-Hour Workweek, M-F, normal duty hours
Travel
- Travel Estimated: Very minimal travel is planned or expected, but could be required on an as needed basis by customer.
