Title: System Administrator
Job Description:
An opening exists for a qualified individual to install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot workstations and servers running Windows Server, Linux, Legato backup system, Oracle backup, RAID disk arrays, and other associated equipment. The individual will be required to understand and implement rules and procedures for computer security on both classified and unclassified systems. The individual will interface with Cyber Security and others in order to ensure organizational performance objectives are met and all systems conform to corporate standards and requirements. The individual will research new technologies, assess current operations for potential improvements, and provide professional advice to the team lead regarding intermediate and long term plans for overall computer operations.
Required Skills:
5 years of desktop support experience
3 years’ experience of server support
Detailed knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, both servers and workstations
Experience in server requirements planning and acquisition
Experience with RAID disk arrays (NAS and SAN)
Demonstrated ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot PC hardware and software
Knowledge of networking principles and practices, to include setting up and maintaining user accounts, system permissions, and security settings
Web Development and Java experience
Demonstrated reliability in maintaining server O/S patching
Knowledge of Active Directory domains and Organizational Units
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with other people
Demonstrated customer focus
Candidate must have an active DOE L Clearance and the ability to obtain a DOE "Q" security clearance
Desired Skills:
Experience in managing Linux desktops and servers
Knowledge and experience with Legato backup systems
Experience installing, administrating, backing up, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL 9.2 or above
Prior experience with classified computer systems and computer security plans
Experience in writing computer security plans and interfacing with audit organizations
Software development experience
