SAIC is look for a BO/BI Reporting Analyst in Indian Head, MD.
The BO/BI Reporting Analyst works directly with business users, BI team members, and other IT resources to build and deploy business intelligence functionality from business specifications by modeling, designing, developing, testing, and implementing the appropriate back-end structures and front-end reporting objects. This position will be responsible for assessing detailed business requirements for operational, analytic, and executive reporting in order to design, develop, and support business intelligence solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of both backend and frontend components of the SAP BI suite (including SAP BW, EP, and various Business Objects tools), as well extraction processes from non-SAP source systems, SAP sources, and other types of data inputs (i.e. flat file, third-party syndicated data sources, databases, and other enterprise systems). It is also required that the candidate possess a strong understanding of application integration both from a conceptual and practical standpoint. The candidate must be able to work independently, must be a self-starter, and must be able to work for extended periods without direction. This individual will be required to apply proven communication, analytical and problem solving abilities to help maximize the benefit of the SAP BW system, and Business Intelligence applications in the Customer’s environment.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Gather Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse requirements
- Assist in modeling SAP Data warehouse and implement using best practice approaches
- Effectively interact with business and functional teams to gather/develop functional and technical requirements and translate the requirements into robust analytics and reporting solutions
- Installation and Activation of Standard SAP Content for SAP BI
- Knowledgeable in the use of SAP reporting and data extraction tools (SAP Browser, SAP Query, SAP Quick Viewer, etc.) to support periodic or one-time data sourcing for a customer requirement.
- Design, create, and perform BW/BI Generic Extractors from the ERP system and other SAP products/ modules
- Posts extract results to iNAVSEA
- Design and Develop SAP Business Objects Universes to for Enterprise reporting and analytics
- Design and Develop Dashboards for KPIs in Xcelsius, dynamic queries and reports in Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports
- Moderate to Advanced use of MS Excel.
- SAP Query, SAP Quick Viewer for doing analytics and research in support of report development
- Create SAP BI development standards
- Adhere to development methodology, standards and naming conventions and best practices
- Complete project related documentation (naming standards, technical specifications, test plans etc.) during the different stages of the project as required
- Develop data warehouses, OLAP databases, ETL processes
Qualifications:
Experience/Education Requirements and Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree, MA or MS degree desired
- Experience in the design, development, and deployment of Business Metrics, Dashboards, and reporting solutions
- Experience using a variety of IT tools and applications (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL and SQL*Plus, Business Objects, Xcelsius, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, ABAP) to Analyze, Design, Develop, Test, Document and Deploy reporting solutions
- 5+ years of experience with Navy and Navy ERP SAP solutions
- 10 years of experience producing business intelligence solutions
- SAP BI suite (including SAP BW, EP, and various Business Objects tools)
- Must be eligible for a Secret Clearance
