SAIC currently has contingent openings for clinical/medical positions. These positions will become part of a team of professionals supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC). These positions will be located in Houston, TX.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Medical positions include physicians, registered nurses, registered dietitians, medical technologists, case managers, medical records supervisors, exercise or aerospace physiologists; dental assistant/hygienists, etc. positions supporting NASA’s HHPC. These positions will be responsible for supporting a wide range of medical operational responsibilities, including medical and laboratory planning and support, occupational medicine, flight medicine, space medicine, behavioral sciences, human test support, occupational health, medical informatics, and industrial hygiene programs. Successful candidates will demonstrate understanding and ability to follow medical protocols and comply with Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements as well as NASA program requirements. Medical tasks include in space and ground-based medical operations; medical tests and evaluations; medical services such as diagnostic services (e.g., laboratory, radiographic imaging, acoustic monitoring, etc.) wellness, health stabilization, and the medical screening; injury/illness case management; clinic operations, including physical exams, emergency medicine, etc.; immunizations; and a broad range of laboratory operations and services. These positions are responsible for work assigned and for completing requirements in compliance with regulatory body requirements, NASA standards, medical best practices, and SAIC processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Degree and license requirements vary based on the position. Examples include an MD or DO license to practice medicine in the state of Texas for physicians, an RN license to practice nursing in Texas for registered nurses, and a degree and registration in medical technology (to include being licensed in Texas) for a medical technologist.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Positions require varying levels of experience in a relevant field from a minimum of one year of experience for entry level positions to five years or more for more senior positions.
The contract these positions support requires successful completion of a NASA background verification per NASA Procedural Requirement (NPR) 1600.1, Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Policy and Procedures, in addition to SAIC’s standard background verification process.
