INFORMATION ASSURANCE (IA) ANALYST job available at FORT RUCKER, located Daleville/Dothan, AL
JOB SUMMARY:
Information Assurance Analyst will perform IA related customer technical support functions including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training in response to the United States (U.S.) Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC), Concepts, Doctrine and Learning Directorate (CDLD), Joint and Army Models & Simulations Division (JAMSD) requirements.
Must have 2 years experience with Linux and 2 years experience with DIACAP to be considered for this position.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
IA Analyst shall configure, optimize, and test network servers, hubs, routers, and switches to verify that they comply with IS policy, procedures, and technical requirements. The candidate shall evaluate potential IA security risks and take appropriate corrective and recovery action. The candidate shall verify that hardware, software, data, and facility resources are archived, sanitized, or disposed of in a manner consistent with system IS policies, plans, and requirements. The candidate shall diagnose and, upon COR approval, resolve all identified IA related problems. The candidate shall implement applicable patches including Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs), and Technical Advisories (TAs) and shall perform system audits to assess security related factors. The candidate shall provide the COR with a monthly report of all patches and scans performed.
The candidate shall examine potential security violations to determine if there has been a breach, assess the impact, and preserve the evidence. The candidate shall analyze patterns of noncompliance and take appropriate administrative or programmatic actions to minimize security risks and insider threats. The candidate shall analyze and assess system performance for potential security problems, and adhere to IS security laws and regulations to support functional operations.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Computer Science or related concentration is preferred) and two years of experience in Linux computing environment and two years of DIACAP experience is required. A valid High School diploma or GED and four years of additional experience (six total) may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
All candidates’ resumes must depict having comprehensive knowledge, expertise, and a minimum of four (4) years related experience to performing tasks related to:
- Must have knowledge of Information Assurance processes and procedures.
- Must currently possess the Security+ certification.
- Must have knowledge and experience with DIACAP process. Certification of training attended with-in the last 12 months is a plus.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in applying security requirements to the CE operating system (Linux and Windows)
- Knowledgeable of all levels of computer integration and use.
- Expertise in preparing executive summaries, updates, and briefings the level of detail commensurate to what is customarily required by Senior Army Commanders and their staffs.
- Implementing applicable patches including Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs), and Technical Advisories (TAs) and performing system audits.
- All candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance) and be able to pass a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
- Establish and direct testing and evaluation of existing integrated computer facilities to assess their capability, quality, and effectiveness
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must currently possess the Linux+ certification or Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA) certification
- Must be able to develop and evaluate required accreditation artifacts such as the Systems Identification Profile (SIP), the DIACAP Implementation Plan (DIP), Implementation Status, Estimated Completion Date for each IA Control, Supporting Certification documentation, Actual Validation Results, DIACAP Scorecard, POA&M, Alternate Site Plan, Required Waivers, MOU/MOA's, Service level agreements, architectural artifacts and SOPs.
- Analyzing patterns of noncompliance and take appropriate administrative or programmatic actions to minimize security risks and insider threats.
- Be prepared to implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT) DoD Instructions 8510.01 (dated 12 March 2014)
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
