JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate will serve as the in-house engineer providing support for the NTCSS ISEA/AEA/ILS/APG Integrated Product Team. Candidate will be responsible for:
- Researching and identifying replacement equipment for upcoming end of life (EOL) systems pertaining to the IPT.
- Develop engineering test plans, specifications and requirements documents.
- Providing lab support for equipment installation, de-installation, configuration, integration and troubleshooting.
- Review and red line electrical block diagrams and power calculation tables per SPAWAR IRD standard.
- Perform and document power tests on replacement hardware.
- Support Environmental Qualification Tests (EQT) including shock, vibration and noise testing.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Up to 5-10% travel may be required for this position.
Qualifications
:
EDUCATION:
BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems or Industrial Engineering; Physics
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Six (6) years of experience in C5ISR electronicsintegration, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition,Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems/EquipmentIntegration, Test & Evaluation Criteria
PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be able to safely complete all of the physical demands of thejob, including but not limited to the following: Lifting, pulling, pushing andcarrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis. Walking, bending,stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods of time. Walkdistances of at least one-half mile daily. Manipulating and handling objectsneeded for cable fabrication, including reaching, grasping, twisting, turningand manipulating equipment and tools. Move and arrange heavy cable supplies andelectronic equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have excellent communication and written skills. Ability to interpret and work fromdocumentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches,drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans is required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
An active, transferable DoD Secret (or higher) clearance is required. Candidateselected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meeteligibility requirements for access to classified information and/orfacilities.
