SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Deputy Program Manager tp lead and support new work within the PEO Ships Acquisition Management Directorate. This work will be performed in Washington, DC.
The mission of the PEO Ships Acquisition Management (AM) Directorate is to provide Combat System Acquisition Management for PEO Ships. Current efforts are focused on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) management for the DDG 51 Class, LHD 8 and LCS Flight 0.
PEO Ships AM requires well-integrated and experienced support to assist the Directorate in executing its responsibility to satisfy current and future PEO Ships needs for acquisition management. We are seeking candidates with a clear understanding of DoD acquisition and procurement processes able to provide
knowledge and expertise in the areas of Ship Project Directive (SPD) Execution Planning and Financial Execution, GFE Acquisition and Delivery Management, GFE Production Management, Schedule A through E Configuration Management, Program Management, as well as Business and Financial Planning and
Execution.
The Deputy Program Manager is responsible for managing the implementation of specific government or commercial contracts. Plan, coordinate, and manage the actions taken by an organization to acquire and execute a specific piece of business, either competitively or non-competitively. Integrate all functions and activities necessary to perform the project/program to meet the client or customer requirements. Plan and implement actions by the program/project team to define and implement technical baseline and meet quality requirements for project/program products and services. Direct project team personnel, manage cost and schedule, ensure contract compliance, and serve as customer interface.
Qualifications:
Basic education, skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a technical field in Math or Science. Four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree. Experience in Managing Projects and Track Record: Prior Project experience required, should have 8+ years of experience working on projects or programs, with at least 4 years serving successfully in positions of major responsibilities such as a Project Manager. A minimum of five (5) years of experience with DoD acquisition and Navy Programs, and three (3) years experience in a Project / Program Manager role. Must be capable of leading a project and interfacing with an end customer.
